The Giants Causeway, Ireland's only World Heritage site is, without doubt, the highlight of the tour. Enjoy the stories of Finn MacCool that surround this world famous attraction as you climb over the ancient basalt columns and take photographs to remember.
We also visit Carrickfergus Castle, travel through the marvellous Antrim Coast and Glens AONB, have a photo stop overlooking Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and stop for lunch in the idyllic village of Bushmills home to the Old Bushmills Distillery. Next up is our main stop at the Giants Causeway, before a final photo stop at the Dark Hedges, made popular by hit TV series Game of Thrones, on our homeward journey.
So what are you waiting for? The Causeway Coast Tour departs from Belfast seven days a week – Book now.
Visit seven prime locations on Ireland’s northern coastline
Check in at 9:00am at Donegal Square West before departing Belfast at 9:15 am heading north towards Carrickfergus Castle.
A 30-minute journey up the coast brings us to the Norman-era Carrickfergus Castle. This makes a perfect 10-minute photo stop with its stone walls and ancient harbour, after which we depart along the fabulous Antrim Coast.
As we head north towards Giants Causeway we pass through the spectacular Glens of Antrim. Our journey takes us through the coastal villages of Ballygalley, Glenarm, Carnlough and Cushendall before climbing Glencorp, crossing Glendun's Charles Lanyon Bridge and descending into the town of Ballycastle en route to our next stop.
The stop at Portaneevy Viewpoint provides an opportune moment for a 15-minute photo stop. The location provides picturesque views overlooking the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and clear views of Northern Ireland most northerly point, Rathlin Island. Following our photo stop, we make the short trip to Bushmills.
In the small village of Bushmills, we find the oldest working distillery in Ireland, which for over 400 years has kept to the philosophy that hand crafting small batches is the way to produce beautifully smooth tasting Irish whiskey. The village itself is one of the most idyllic in Northern Ireland, making this an excellent stop for lunch before our onward journey to the Giants Causeway.
The world-famous basalt columns of the Giants Causeway is our main stop of the day. Make your way down and explore the columns for yourself or climb the Shepherd's Steps and hike along the cliff-top trail to get a bird's eye view. The award-winning Visitor Centre also lets you unlock the mystery and stories of the landscape in the exhibition area.
The Dark Hedges is an avenue of beech trees along Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum. They are the most photographed spot in Northern Ireland, also featuring in the award winning TV series, Game of Thrones. This makes them a perfect spot for a final 10-minute photo stop on our homeward journey.
Our day comes to an end as we arrive back in Belfast between 5.30pm and 6.00pm where we wish you farewell and hope you enjoyed your day with us.
